Robert K. Brown served in the U.S. Army from 1954 through 1957, and again between 1964 and 1985. Between military stints, he pursued a degree in political science and a career as a freelance correspondent, which led him to Miami and the Cuban revolutionary movement (first as a Castro supporter and later as a virulent anti-communist advocate). In 1964, he reenlisted in the military and served in Vietnam. After leaving active duty for good, Brown founded Panther Publications (later Paladin Press), which specialized in reprinting military manuals and combat classics. In 1975 he left Paladin to start Soldier of Fortune, and the rest, as they say, is history...
Brown currently serves on the National Rifle Association¹s Board of Directors.
