Edward Lewis' lifelong participation in the martial arts sprang from being bullied in junior high. To make himself stronger, Lewis took up boxing (and promptly suffered a broken nose) and studied judo and karate at home from Bruce Tegner books, before being enrolled by his father in a karate class. Lewis became a black belt right after high school and broadened his martial arts studies to include kung fu, judo, tai chi, Filipino arnis, kickboxing, knife throwing, knife fighting, and martial art weaponry. Combining his formal training with street fighting and boxing, he began organizing and promoting professional and amateur kickboxing in Canada, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.
Professionally, Lewis is a private investigator in Tacoma, Washington, and has worked on many high-profile cases, including those involving child abduction, murder, wrongful death, DNA sampling, missing persons, and forensic document examinations.
